2026 Florida Federal Red Snapper Season Update — Bookings Now Open (Pending NMFS Approval)

The 2026 Atlantic federal red snapper season is getting closer, and there is finally real momentum toward a longer and more predictable season for Florida anglers.

The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has now concluded its public hearings regarding Florida’s Exempted Fishing Permit (EFP), and we are hoping to have a finalized decision by mid-April 2026.

At Nauti Girl Charters, we are officially opening bookings pending approval of the Florida EFP.

What Is Happening With the 2026 Red Snapper Season?

Florida has submitted a proposal allowing the state to manage Atlantic red snapper fishing seasons in both state and federal waters. If approved, this would give Florida more flexibility to set seasons based on local data rather than extremely limited federal openings.

Many anglers remember recent years when the federal Atlantic red snapper season lasted only a day or two. The proposed plan aims to expand access while still protecting the fishery through controlled harvest limits.

While the final decision rests with NMFS, industry expectations are optimistic.

When Will We Know the Official Season Dates?

NMFS has completed public hearings and review phases. Current expectations are that a firm 2026 season announcement could arrive by mid-April.

As soon as dates are finalized, we will notify all booked guests immediately.

Booking Policy (Pending Approval)

We understand anglers want to secure dates early while waiting on federal confirmation.

Here’s how we are handling bookings:

  • Trips are now open for reservation.

  • All bookings are pending final approval of the Florida EFP.

  • If the season is not approved:

    • Your deposit will be fully refunded or

    • Moved to a future red snapper season date.

This allows anglers to lock in limited availability with zero risk.

Why We’re Optimistic

Based on current discussions and industry feedback, there is strong support for allowing southern states greater control over their fisheries management.

Many captains, anglers, and coastal communities believe state-led management will result in better access while maintaining conservation goals.

While nothing is official until NMFS releases final rules, we feel confident progress is being made in the right direction.

Limited Red Snapper Trips Available

We are currently offering 8-hour offshore red snapper trips for 1–3 anglers, and several prime dates are already booked due to limited availability.

Red snapper season historically fills quickly once federal approval is announced, so early reservations are strongly recommended.

What to Expect on a Nauti Girl Red Snapper Trip

Our offshore trips target quality fish on proven bottom structure along Florida’s Space Coast. Depending on conditions, anglers may also encounter:

  • Grouper and triggerfish

Every trip is tailored for a small-group experience focused on action, safety, and unforgettable fishing.

Stay Updated

We will continue posting updates as soon as NMFS releases official information regarding the 2026 federal Atlantic red snapper season.

If you’re ready to secure your spot, now is the time to get on the calendar before dates disappear.
