How We Fish — Shimano Beastmaster 9000 Electric Reels

Deepwater Fishing Made Easier with Professional Electric Tackle!

Aboard Nauti Girl Sportfishing Charters, we're equipped with two Shimano Beastmaster 9000 electric reel setups, paired with heavy-duty bent-butt fishing rods designed for serious deep-drop fishing.

When we're fishing depths of 400–950 feet, bringing a big fish to the surface can be a serious challenge. Our electric reels help take the exhausting work out of retrieving hundreds of feet of fishing line while keeping you involved in the action.

Here's How It Works

We position the bent-butt rods securely in the boat's heavy-duty gunwale rod holders. The rods remain in their holders throughout the fight.

When a fish strikes, you'll see the rod tip bend under the weight of your catch. Captain Scott and First Mate Dusty will guide you through the process.

You control the electric reel using its buttons, allowing the Shimano Beastmaster 9000 to retrieve your fish while you watch the rod, monitor the fight, and experience the excitement of bringing something up from the deep.

With two electric fishing setups, we can have two anglers fishing at the same time when conditions allow.

As your catch approaches the surface, First Mate Dusty will be ready to assist with landing your fish safely.

What Are We Fishing For?

Our deep-drop trips target exciting offshore species such as golden tilefish, blueline tilefish, snowy grouper, yellowedge grouper, and other deepwater bottom fish when legally available.

No experience with electric reels? No problem! Captain Scott and Dusty will show you how everything works before we make our first drop.
